FF2k8 Pre-Draft

Well, we're three days away from the beginning of the disappointment for six of you people – the day when you have the whole season in-front of you: no losing record to mask (or attempt to mask), a four-month hiatus on explaining the $120 “debit” to the checking account ($150 for trade-happy Wheeler), and a “returned to normal-sized” rectum that has mostly healed from your FF2k7 ass-rapings. All in all, things are looking-up for most of you. But there’s still the reality that only four of us will be champions – and when I say four, I really mean two – because two of the four will simply get their money back, and that’s hardly worthy of the word “champion.”

This year, as you all know, we’ll be using the fantasyauctioneer.com site to “manage” the first year of the auction draft. I urge you all to try the site at least once – get comfortable with the set-up. The last thing I need is to hear your whining because you didn’t check-out the site, and now you’re stuck with a $185 Rex Grossman and fifteen other $1 value-picks. That will probably happen to one of you. During the first few rounds, we’ll have a “long” timer on the auction so we can all get used to the set-up. Once we’re comfortable, we’ll shorten the timer. The site should allow you to pre-rank your players: do that – it should make things a little easier come Friday night. Also, be sure to have your “nomination” list ready: these are the players on which you intend to start the bidding when it’s your turn in the barrel. In the later rounds, these are players that will most likely end-up on your team, so be sure to pop your head out of the ass for a few minutes to get that shit straight!
